Afternoon in the front garden

This afternoon was another beautiful day so I took the chance to work in the front garden.

First, Mark and I sowed a few things. I got two big cardboard tubes from work that he cut in bits to use as biodegradable flower pots.

In then I sowed peppers and sweet peas so that when they will be ready to go into the garden later without disturbing the root system. Meanwhile Mark prepared 50 little plastic pots, washed them in a bleach solution to kill any bugs and filled them up with compost to plant date seeds that we kept from the Christmas festivities.

I finished with sowing my St Pierre tomatoes. That's the species I used last year and I had lovely plants but we didn't eat any fruit due to the disease that struck them.

Finally I finished my day in the front garden, cleaning and weeding a bit.

I also transferred a couple of "wind-delivered" pink aquilegias from the path to a bed next to yellow ones that I bought last year , I'd like to buy a few "Black Barlow" aquilegias to add some colour to this little corner.

Otherwise, the primroses are beautiful, the daffodils have started blossoming, the hellebores are pretty and the little blue hyacinths are coming up nicely.
